Qu 2: Representation of particular social groups

My magazines pictures break the convention because they were designed with a specific style in mind this led them to be very different to the magazines most like mine. the lighting is very unconventional because it only has one specific light on the front cover whilst most covers are very bright, also the shot type is a extreme close up and this is unconventional because the conventional magazines either have a wide angle shot for a lot of people or the medium long shot or a long shot for a few people whilst mine is a extreme close up so the audience are not used to the personal feel to the cover and the in there face picture.

The similarity's of the pictures are that they are both taken as a high angle shot with a spotlight on, the spotlight on my picture (left) is shining directly down on the person whilst on the Mojo picture the spotlight is shining from the side. The posture of both cover artists are that they are both looking up however on the Mojo cover the artist is still maintaining a objective gaze. Both have quite a similar expression and that is a slight smirk on their face.
I believe that the pictures both aim for ABC 1 which is what i was aiming for also it is very masculine and i think it does not suggest that it is aimed a ether a urban or country side populace.
I believe these picture do agree with conventional genres because they don't include hoodies or any heavy metal clothing the most unconventional thing would be the artist on Mojo's hair because it is quite long.
I believe that my magazine has a pro consumerist view however it may not ba as strong as other magazines such as NME and Q this allows for advertising but because the age that we are aiming for is around 19-28 it leaves a lot of scope for adverting however because of the age group we are aiming for they are maturer than other magazines age groups so this leads to the conclusion that they will not splash out willy nilly on any think.
