The main difference of the two magazines front covers are that the cover lines on the music magazine are much more effective and look a lot more professional in comparison, for example the cover lines on the music magazine have effects like the 'exclusive' and also the 'Formation' being twisted whilst the 'exclusive' has a outer glow of red. Also some things are in bold and in a different colour to the text such as the '50' the this will draw the eye of the reader in whilst the collage magazine has no bold text or outer glow this is a vast improvement i feel.
The shots are different because for the collage magazine the photo was not based on a idea it was just really a photo whilst with the music magazine was focused on bohemian rhapsody by queen.
this design was influenced by the genre of music i was aiming for 'rock/ indie'. the music magazine is a extreme close up whilst the college magazine is a medium close up, i thought that the medium close up was very effective however i could not carry this over to the music magazine because of their being two people and the design i was aiming for almost made it impossible for a medium close up, so a extreme close up was needed. This camera shot is effective because it links with my magazine because the band featuring are new so it gave them a personal felling towards the audience.
As explained in previous posts the music magazine was a hybrid of Mojo and NME and i believe that the text on the music magazine does reflect this because most of it is organised and quite smart like Mojo whilst some is unconventional like NME. Their were many differences in the amount of technology need to produce these magazines for example the college magazine required a lot less technology from photoshop whilst the music needed quite a lot for example the both of the artists on the front have both had the spotlight tool used on them and some text has had a drop shadow and outer glow on the contents page i used the gradient tool to provide a darkened effect that really brings out the text written over the darker side. Feed back was a vital importance for example the front cover for the music magazine was very straight whilst after feed back the Formation and Exclusive are bot slanted towards each other also i was trying to find a place to write the date band whilst a class mate said to put in the top to make use of the space left by the circular sound wave.
The double page spread required a lot of detail because on the scale of the image and if it was magic wanded poorly it would show up and make it look poor quality.
